Make sure the door isn't locked and the wall control still works. A dead wall button can look like a dead opener.
The little eyes near the floor need to face each other with a steady light. Wipe them clean and clear anything blocking the path.
Confirm the opener is plugged in and the breaker isn't tripped. Test the remote and the wall keypad both.
If only the remote is dead, a new battery often brings it right back before you even need us out.
If the door is off the track, forcing the button can bend panels and cost more. Stop and let us get it back on safely.
